Waiting or Procrastinating

Since I am currently waiting for important supplies to arrive in the mail concerning the book binding project I have undertaken. I have found myself with a little free time that I had scheduled a week earlier to work on this project. Obviously thinking I would be book binding at this moment.

So, what did I decide to do? I decided to organize all my books on the taboo & macabre. Almost 3/4th the way through on grabbing all the “relevant books” to put on 2 shelves. I found myself staring at the four book stack by Thomas Harris. You know, the books with Hannibal Lector? I then got an idea. What if I finished up with this little organizing time filler and sat down to watch all the relevant movies based on this book series in timeline order. Which I would indulge in, until my packages were finally delivered. Then I stopped and realized there were tv shows too. I immeadietly came to the conclusion that this watching frenzy would take months instead of just a couple days. I actually wanted to know exactly how long all this viewing would take.

So, all 5 movies (Hannibal Rising, Manhunter, Red Dragon, Silence of the lambs, and Hannibal.) would total about 10 hours 13 minutes. Granted Manhunter and Red Dragon are both based off of the the first book Red Dragon, in the series. Yet there are enough differences in the 2 stories that I am keeping it in the equation. And Manhunter is a great movie, so that kinda is a huge factor. Despite the fact that it has different and wonderful actors in it. You know, William Peterson (Gil Grissom) from the original CSI TV show. And Brian Cox (Uncle Argyle) from the Braveheart Movie.

Anyway…

The Hannibal TV series is about 28 hours for the three seasons. And the one season of Clarice runs about 9 hours 10 minutes.

The grand total of the movies and tv shows being 47 hours and 23 minutes. That is a lot of sit down time. So yeah. I would estimate this viewing endeavor would last at least a couple months. My book binding project would start up again; probably somewhere in the beginning of the first season of Hannibal. But once I start something, I HAVE TO finish it. Well… sometimes I have to. So yeah. A couple months of getting an episode or two in between my daily life schedule.

Finally, I of course would watch all these in chronological order based on the story timeline of the characters.

I need to get some popcorn… I am now thinking that watching so much Murder Circus media content for that long, might not be the best idea I have come up with this year. I had bing watched the True Detectives series at the beginning of this year, and became a little fidgety by the time I finished the fourth season. Also, When I decided to binge Criminal Minds that one year. I couldn’t even finish season 9. I had to wait two months before starting it again. I have only gotten up to season 15 by the way. Haven’t revisited it since the season ended in 2020. There are like two more seasons as well as the other Criminal Minds tv series Beyond Boarders that I haven’t even watched yet.

Maybe it won’t be that bad. Then again, Anthony Hopkins is terrifyingly diabolical to me as the Hannibal Lector character. So it could be pretty bad. Mads Mikkelsen isn’t as creepy to me. For some reason (in my perception) he makes the embodiment of the character an evil dark badass mastermind. IE, less realistic than Hopkins’ portrayal.

I just looked at my digital media collection… I think I might own way too many murder/horror shows…

Ooo, I haven’t watched South of Hell since it came out in 2015. That was a good one.

… Why do I have a picture of Wil Wheaton collating papers?
