I have always enjoyed wandering far beyond the boundaries of what a story actually requires, following small ideas until they become worlds of their own. VELLUM NAUTILUS grew from that instinct. It began as a fictional music band that existed only because of an obsession belonging to the main character (Delta) of my comic book S.E.C.S. N°152. Set roughly five thousand years in the future aboard a colony spaceship inhabited by only a single human and a singularity consciousness, the story follows someone whose enduring fascination with a music band from the twenty second century becomes the one constant that helps preserve her sanity throughout the immense passage of time. While developing that character, I found myself sharing her fixation, not because the band was essential to the plot, but because exploring it became irresistible. This page exists as a record of that creative detour, a place devoted to examining a fictional band whose presence within the comic itself will ultimately be almost microscopic, yet whose imagined history became too compelling for me to leave unexplored.
