What if those who care, were the only ones that got things done?
Here’s another question. If math is the key to the universe. Then what does faith unlock?
From my understanding of it. The whole concept of math was originally based off of human perception. What we could sense (sight, sound, touch, etc). It just grew and evolved from there.
As for faith. From my opinion, this spurs off from expectation. Believing that something exists and/or will occur. Religion of course being an organized byproduct of this psychological phenomenon. The flip side (math) being, quantum physics (for now).
To humans, our universal acceptance of mainstream math is all based on what we see “as a whole” (by those with influence). Then we use it to figure out what we ‘can’t see/observe’. Having “faith” that our system that we invented (math) isn’t wholly flawed.
See what I did there? To a lot of the really smart people, they know that our system we have in place, is not complete. A lot of what is excepted as fact in mathematics, is actually based on believing that what math has told us, is true. So, would that mean that having faith in something (like math), is just another form of “maybe”? Not to those with unwavering faith. They will scratch and claw their viewpoint to the ends of the earth. For example, 1+1 is the most basic form of this explanation. Assuming you share my own belief that the answer is 2, it actually isn’t always the case. To the people that are not mathematicians (or inclined towards numerical majesty), they do not realize that the system we accepted, is not the only one. “What do you mean? There’s more than one MATHS? WT$#!+!”
1+1 can equal 0 or even 10. (Modulo two arithmetic)
This right here is one of the many reasons I have great pity for the US education system. If you are not personally inclined to venture to multiple libraries, and/or seek out REAL professionals; in search of all the truths and facts out there, you’re not going to learn everything “academic” in a public school.
So, what does it take to have any faith in something that you learned as a kid, and then found out decades later that it is not the thing you thought it was? Does that make one lazy? No. You were just misinformed about the details. Are you going to do anything about it? Correct the misinformation you were raised to believe? Or, are you going to claw and fight for what you have faith in? Discounting the new information as a fat load of poop…
Maybe math was not a good example to base this theory on. Maybe I should have gone the route of the Chupacabra. They’re real right?
So, what does it take to weald the keys to the universe? A library of books? A really good teacher? Do you need the power of Grayskull? I know that you don’t have to be a genius. I believe that all you need to have is a kind of faith that’s able to be malleable. A type of drive that compels you to know more… But then what?
…
Do something with it.
…
Or just eat potato chips and watch adult cartoons.
Side note: Having a butt load of money can get things done too. Whether or not they are the kind of things that should be done is another bucket of maggot food.
